![]() The lack of a confirmation dialogue box is an oversight that should be completely unacceptable from a company as large as Apple. What happened was I went to select the thread so I could respond to a text, somehow the "edit" button got pressed and instead of opening the thread, it had a check mark next to it, and then the corner of my hand must have pressed delete on the bottom of the screen and the thread disappeared within about half of a second from when I selected it. ![]() ![]() I am absolutely dumbfounded that there is no alert dialogue box that appears to confirm that you want to delete messages. The iMessage thread still exists on my iPad and MacBook, but I don't want to do a backup of my iPad and restore to my phone because I have tons of data on my phone that isn't on my iPad.Įvery recovery program I've found online forces you to pay a ridiculous amount to actually "restore" the deleted files, and the "trial version" only allows you to scan for deleted things and then just look at them. I accidentally deleted over a years worth of iMessages between me and my girlfriend from my iPhone. ![]()
